A symbol of the city, the tower is also a kind of architectural monument. It is located on the northwestern slope of the Burdo hill, just a 5-minute walk from the Pelevi guest house. The tower consists of two parts with stone masonry, with a height of 18.60 meters and with a wall thickness of 80 cm. The wooden belts are placed every meter. The shape is an octagon, the roof is cone-shaped, covered with sheet metal. The watch has two Roman numeral dials. The internal staircase was replaced in 1960.
The construction itself is financed by two local residents. Above its door was a stone slab with an inscription in the Old Turkish language. The text of the tablet said that in order to guide the time for the population, the construction of a multi-cornered clock began. The builder of the tower was called Malik Celebi and he built the clock in 1872. Thus the wish of the donors was fulfilled. Today, the Clock Tower in Rakitovo is a historical cultural monument of national importance.
